The product: The 50/50 Balanced Plan. <br />2. The 50150 Balanced Plan. <br />Quite simply, the 50/50 Balanced Plan is premised upon the mandate for a mix of <br />uses expressed by the vast majority of participants in the Saltworks Team's <br />outreach. Under the- 50150 Balanced Plan, at least half of the Site would be <br />devoted-to community open space and ecological restoration, and the remaining <br />half would become an innovative, sustainable transit oriented community. <br />3. The Saltworks Ten Commitments <br />Long in the public domain, the Saltworks "Ten Commitments" remain the heart of <br />the 50/50 Balanced Plan, reflecting the core priorities and needs expressed by <br />the Redwood City community. <br />4. Sustainability <br />An ethic of sustainability rooted in "whole systems" and "process -based ecology" <br />has guided the Saltworks Team since day one. As to both the natural and built <br />environments, six core elements of sustainability have been the prism through <br />which the 50/50 Balanced Plan came into being. Those six elements are: <br />livability, water, transportation, energy, ecology, and materials. <br />E. Project Description <br />t.. Land Use Flan <br />Below is a statistical breakdown of the 50150 Balanced Plan's land use allocation. <br />This allocation is graphically depicted in the attached Lurid Use Plan exhibit.
