DES:mf 7/22/82 DES:mf 7/26/82R RES 0 L UTI 0 N N o. 91 6 2 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ORDERING SUBMISSION OF A REFERENDUM MEASURE REGARDING AN AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PERTAINING TO AN AREA DESIGNATED "SOUTH SHORES" TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AT A SPECIAL ELECTION HEREIN CALLED FOR SUCH PURPOSE ON NOVEMBER 2, 1982; AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN ~~TEO TO CONSOLIDATE SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE JUL 2 6 1982 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. <br />City, and Making Certain Findings with Respect Thereto ('South <br /> <br />Shores') ," adopted May 24, 1982 by this Council. <br /> <br />SECTION 3. The ballot measure hereinabove ordered to be <br /> <br />submitted to the electors of the City of Redwood City shall, on the <br /> <br />ballots and on the voting machines to be used at said special <br /> <br />municipal election, appear as follows: <br /> <br />REFERENDUM MEASURE <br /> <br />Measure A: Shall Resolution No. 9131 of the Council of <br />Redwood City amending the Redwood City General <br />Plan pertaining to the South Shores Area be <br />disapproved? <br /> <br />SECTION 4. The City Clerk of the City of Redwood City is <br /> <br />hereby directed upon passage and adoption of this resolution to <br /> <br />transmit a copy thereof to the City Attorney for the preparation <br /> <br />of an impartial analysis of the ballot measure showing the effect <br /> <br />thereof on existing law and the operation of the measure. <br /> <br />SECTION 5. The City Clerk of the City of Redwood City is <br /> <br />hereby directed upon the passage and adoption of this resolution <br /> <br />to cause a copy of the measure hereinabove referenced to be printed <br /> <br />and to mail a copy of the measure with a sample ballot to each voter <br /> <br />at least ten (10) days prior to the election. If the Clerk <br /> <br />ascertains that the measure exceeds one thousand words in length, <br /> <br />the Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to mail to the voters a <br /> <br />synopsis of the resolution in lieu of a copy thereof. The City <br /> <br />Attorney lS hereby authorized and directed to prepare said synopsis. <br /> <br />SECTION 6. The City Clerk or the County Clerk of the County of <br /> <br />San Mateo, or such other appropriate election official, is hereby <br /> <br />authorized and empowered to redesignate or change the letter <br /> <br />designation of the measure hereinabove set forth for purposes of <br /> <br />listing said measure on the ballot and on the voting machines to <br /> <br />be used at the special municipal election to be held on said <br /> <br />measure on November 2, 1982.
