DES:mf 7/22/82 DES:mf 7/26/82R RES 0 L UTI 0 N N o. 91 6 2 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY ORDERING SUBMISSION OF A REFERENDUM MEASURE REGARDING AN AMENDMENT TO THE GENERAL PLAN OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PERTAINING TO AN AREA DESIGNATED "SOUTH SHORES" TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AT A SPECIAL ELECTION HEREIN CALLED FOR SUCH PURPOSE ON NOVEMBER 2, 1982; AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN ~~TEO TO CONSOLIDATE SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE JUL 2 6 1982 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. <br />the ballot card or other device shall be prepared (1) so that any <br />qualified elector may vote for the measure by punching or otherwise <br />specifying an affirmative vote in a space provided therefore; and <br />(2) so that any qualified elector may vote against said measure <br />by punching or otherwise specifying a negative vote in a space <br />provided therefore. <br />Where voting machines are used at said general municipal <br />election, said voting machines shall be arranged (1) so that any <br />qualified elector may vote for said measure by pulling down a lever <br />adjacent to the word "Yes" under or near a statement of the measure <br />appearing on the cardboard, paper or other material placed on the <br />front of the machine, and said act shall constitute a vote for the <br />measure; and (2) so that any qualified elector may vote against the <br />measure by pulling down a lever adjacent to the word "No" under or <br /> <br /> <br />near said statement of the measure so placed on the front of the <br /> <br />machine, and said act shall constitute a vote against the measure. <br /> <br /> <br />Said voting machines and the preparation thereof shall comply in all <br /> <br /> <br />respects with requirements of law. <br /> <br /> <br />The returns of said election shall be made out and signed by <br /> <br />the election officers and as otherwise required by law and shall be <br /> <br />deposited with the City Clerk. This Council shall meet at its usual <br /> <br /> <br />meeting place and canvass said returns at its regular meeting on <br /> <br />Monday, the 8th day of November, 1982 (being the first Monday after <br /> <br />said election) at the hour of 7:30 P.M. and declare the results of <br /> <br />said special municipal election. <br /> <br /> <br />SECTION 2. The Resolution hereinabove ordered to be submitted <br /> <br /> <br />to the electors of the City of Redwood City 1S Resolution No. 9131 <br /> <br />entitled "Resolution of the Council of Redwood City Adopting an <br /> <br /> <br />Amendment to the General Plan of the City of Redwood City Relating <br /> <br /> <br />To Property Located Generally Easterly of State Highway 101, Bounded <br /> <br />in Part by Steinberger and Corkscrew Sloughs in the City of Redwood <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br />9162 <br />
