<br />JMS:am 7-21-83 <br /> <br />A G R E E MEN T <br /> <br />-- <br /> <br />-,~- <br /> <br />----=-----=-- <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />1983, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, a municipal corporation of <br /> <br />the State of California (hereinafter referred to as "City"), and the <br /> <br />REDWOOD CITY - SAN MATEO COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE (hereinafter referred <br /> <br />to as "Chamber"); <br /> <br />WIT N E SSE T H : <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Chamber has requested City to provide monies during the <br /> <br />fiscal year July 1, 1983 - June 30, 1984, for the maintenance and <br />improvement of the economy of the City of Redwood City by the general <br /> <br />development and promotion of local industry and commerce, in the City of <br /> <br />Redwood City; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City has determined that the promotion and development of <br /> <br />the industrial and commercial economy of the City of Redwood City is <br />vital t~_the present and future well-being of all segments of the public <br /> <br />of the City of Redwood City, and is in the public interest and would <br /> <br />result in public benefit to the whole of the community; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby agreed as follows: <br /> <br />o <br /> <br />1. Economic Development and Promotion. <br /> <br />(a) Citi shall pay Chamber <br /> <br />Twenty Thousand and No/IOO Dollars ($20,000.00) during the period July 1, <br /> <br />1983 - June 30, 1984. <br /> <br />--, '-(b) Chamber agrees to expend all monies received from Ci ty <br /> <br />pursuant to subparagraph (a) for the sole and exclusive purpose of <br /> <br />maintaining and expanding the economy of the City of Redwood City and <br /> <br />1 <br />
