RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY PROPOSING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ORDERING SUBMISSION THEREOF TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF APRIL 10, 1984 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Council of Redwood City does hereby propose, on its motion, that those certain amendments hereinafter set forth be made to the Charter of the City of Redwood City, and does hereby order that such proposed Charter amendments be submitted to the electors of the City of Redwood City at the General Municipal

<br />DES:djg-c 12/8/83 <br /> <br />adopts additional identified matter by reference. In case of an <br />ordinance being amended before its final adoption and after ~~s <br />publication of the notice required herein, ~~ a new notice shall <br />in like manner be republished ~fi f~~~ as amefieee at least one day <br />before ~~s the ordinance's adoption as amended; provided, however, <br />that where such amendment is made for the correction of clerical <br />errors or omissions of form only, then such ordinances need not be <br />given a first reading e~ a ~e~~~~~ea~~eft as corrected~ nor need a <br />new notice be published. <br /> <br />"Except as otherwise provided by general law, or this <br />charter, no action providing for the appropriation or expenditure <br />of public money, in any amount over two thousand dollars ($2,000), <br />or for the levying of any tax or assessment, or for the granting <br />of any franchise, or for the establishment or change of zoning <br />regulations, or for the imposition of any penalty or fine or <br />imprisonment, shall be taken except by ordinance. Any and all <br />other legislative action may be accomplished by resolution or <br />ordinance as the Council may determine. <br /> <br />"No ordinance or portion thereof shall be repealed except by <br />ordinance. No ordinance shall be revised, re-enacted, or amended <br />by reference to its title only; but the ordinance to be revised or <br />re-enacted, or the section or sections thereof to be amended, or <br />the new section or sections to be added thereto, shall be set <br />forth and adopted according to the method provided in this section <br />for the enactment of ordinances, and such revision, re-enactment, <br />amendment or addition, shall be done by ordinance only. <br /> <br />"All ordinances shall be signed by the Mayor and attested by <br />and filed with the City Clerk; provided, however, the Mayor may <br />sign all ordinances and other legal instruments and documents by <br />facsimile signature." <br /> <br />----------------------------------------------------------------- <br />----------------------------------------------------------------- <br /> <br />"SECTION 47d. ORDINANCES AND RESOLUTIONS: <br /> <br />"All actions taken by the Board of Port Commissioners shall <br />be by motion spread upon its minutes, or by resolution except as <br />hereinafter set forth. <br /> <br />"Any member of the Board may require a record of the vote on <br />any resolution to be made in its minutes. The Board shall keep a <br />minute book wherein shall be recorded the proceedings taken at its <br />meetings and it shall keep a record and index of all its <br />resolutions and ordinances, which shall be open to public <br />inspection when not in use. <br /> <br />12 <br />
