RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY PROPOSING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ORDERING SUBMISSION THEREOF TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AT THE GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION OF APRIL 10, 1984 BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The Council of Redwood City does hereby propose, on its motion, that those certain amendments hereinafter set forth be made to the Charter of the City of Redwood City, and does hereby order that such proposed Charter amendments be submitted to the electors of the City of Redwood City at the General Municipal

<br />DES:djg-c 12/8/83 <br /> <br />Election to be held in the City on April 10, 1984, in the form of <br /> <br />a proposal to amend said Charter by amending Sections 9, 17, 18, <br /> <br />21-1/2, and 47a thereof. On the ballots and on the voting <br /> <br />machines to be used at said election, in addition to all other <br /> <br />matters required by law to be printed thereon, shall appear the <br /> <br />following: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION B: Shall Sections 9, 17, 18, 21-1/2, <br />and 47a of the Redwood City Charter be amended to provide <br />uniform resident elector requirements for the Council <br />and certain boards and commissions? <br /> <br />SECTION 5. <br /> <br />(a) The Council of Redwood City hereby proposes, <br /> <br />on its own motion, to amend the Charter of the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City by amending Section 47g thereof to read as follows: <br /> <br />"SECTION 47g. RELATION TO CITY MANAGER AND COUNCIL: <br /> <br />"The city manager and City Council shall be notified of the <br />time and place of the holding of all meetings of the Commission <br />and shall have the right to attend and address the Commission at <br />such meetings. The Secretary of the Commission shall, within two <br />(2) days after the adjournment of each meeting of the Commission, <br />furnish the city manager and City Council with a copy of the <br />minutes of such meeting. The files of the Commission shall be <br />open to inspection by the city manager or the City Council at all <br />reasonable times. The Board shall annually, at a meeting <br />designated by the Council, report on the preceding year's <br />activities and accomplishments, and future plans and objectives." <br /> <br />(b) Said Charter amendment proposal shall be submitted to <br /> <br />the electors of the City of Redwood City at the General Municipal <br /> <br />Election to be held in the City on April 10, 1984, in the form of <br /> <br />a proposal to amend said Charter by amending Section 47g thereof. <br /> <br />On the ballots and on the voting machines to be used at said <br /> <br />election, in addition to all other matters required by law to be <br /> <br />printed thereon, shall appear the following: <br /> <br />7 <br />
