Approve a resolution designating the property located at 2236 Hopkins Avenue <br />as a historic landmark based on the finding that the subject property meets the <br />historic designation criteria, per section 40.6 of the Redwood City Historic <br />Preservation Ordinance as listed below: <br />. The property exemplifies or reflects special elements of the City's cultural, <br />aesthetic or architectural history; and <br />. It is identified with persons or events significant in local, State, or National <br />History; and <br />. MATTERS OF COUNCIL INTEREST <br /> <br />A. Legislation (information only) - This sub-section involves possible discussion of <br />City Position on Proposed Legislation described in the League of California Cities <br />Priority Focus Bulletin No. 40-2001 and 41-2007. Council may direct staff to act on <br />positions taken by Council. (Copies of League of California Cities Priority Focus <br />available in City Clerk's Department). <br /> <br />B. Council Member Aguirre - mentioned the event from November 2, Dia de los <br />Muertos, that was held at Courthouse Square beginning at the library. She <br />commended the library and Civic Cultural Commission stating her hope that it will <br />be an annual event. <br /> <br />C. Council Member Howard - thanked the Public Works Services (PWS) <br />Department, specifically, for the Water Resources Management Program <br />newsletter. She stated that it is an eye catching publication and the idea of bringing <br />a water show to the schools to teach about conservation participation. <br /> <br />She also gave an update on the Aqua Terra committee which was developed in the <br />1990's to clean up the waterways.
