<br />)CB:rb 8/23/84 <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />9675 <br /> <br />ORIGINAL <br />AUG 2 7 1984 <br /> <br />RESOLUTION REJECTING ALL BIDS FOR THE SEAPORT BOULEVARD <br />PHASE II RECONSTRUCTION PROJECT; DIRECTING RETURN OF <br />SECURITY DEPOSITS; AND DIRECTING STAFF TO REDESIGN THE <br />PROJECT <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Resolution No. 9622, adopted July 9, <br /> <br />1984, the City Clerk called for bids for the Reconstruction of <br /> <br />Seaport Boulevard, Phase II Improvement Project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to said call, bids were received and filed <br /> <br />with the City Clerk for the furnishing of said improvement <br /> <br />project; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the attached bids received far exceed the estimated <br /> <br />cost of Seaport Boulevard Phase II Reconstruction Project and it <br /> <br />would be advantageous for the City to redesign the project for <br /> <br />potential cost savings and increased environmental protection; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. Any and all bids requested pursuant to Resolution No. <br /> <br />9622, adopted July 9, 1984, are rejected due to bids exceeding <br /> <br />estimated costs for Project, increased cost savings by the City <br /> <br />by <br /> <br />redesigning <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Project, <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />increased <br /> <br />environmental <br /> <br />protection through redesign. <br /> <br />2. The City Clerk is hereby authorized and directed to <br /> <br />return to all unsuccessful bidders all security guaranteeing <br /> <br />execution of the contract upon award. <br /> <br />9675 <br />
