<br />SWC:sh 7/29/85 <br /> <br />WHEREAS, this Council has received extensive evidence <br /> <br />that the buildings at 203 Hemlock Avenue have become dilapidated <br /> <br />and have numerous housing code violations; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. The buildings at 203 Hemlock Avenue are determined to be <br /> <br />a public nuisance because such buildings would endanger the life, <br /> <br />health, property and safety of any occupants of such buildings <br /> <br />and affect the neighborhood and persons in the surrounding <br /> <br />vicinity of such structures. <br /> <br />2. The specific findings supporting the determination that <br /> <br />such buildings constitute a public nuisance are as follows: <br /> <br />Redwood City Code <br />(Uniform Housing Code) <br />Violation Sections <br /> <br />A Description of Violations <br />of Redwood City Code <br /> <br />U.H.C. 1001 (e) <br /> <br />Electrical: Extension cords in <br />lieu of permanent wiring. <br /> <br />U.H.C. 1001 (h) <br /> <br />Weather Protection: Windows <br />broken; exterior paint <br />deteriorated. <br /> <br />U.H.C. 1001 (g) <br /> <br />Mechanical: Inadequate heating <br />ventilation in main building; <br />none provided in rear unit. <br /> <br />U.H.C. 1001 (b) <br /> <br />Sanitation: Hazardous and <br />unsanitary premises; dilapidated <br />kitchen sinks; cockroaches. <br /> <br />U.H.C. 1001 (f) <br /> <br />Plumbing: Kitchen sink leaks in <br />rear unit.
