RES 0 L UTI 0 N N O. 10296 AUG 4 1986 RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY PROPOSING CERTAIN AMENDMENTS TO THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ORDERING SUBMISSION THEREOF TO THE ELECTORS OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AT A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION HEREIN CALLED FOR SUCH PURPOSE ON NOVEMBER 4, 1986; AND REQUESTING THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO TO CONSOLIDATE SAID ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE GENERAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON SAID DATE BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. <br />DES:djc 8/1/86 <br /> <br />the results thereof declared in accordance with the <br /> <br /> <br />provisions of law regulating the statewide or school <br /> <br /> <br />district election, and duly elected officers, if any, <br /> <br /> <br />shall be installed at the first regular meeting of the <br /> <br /> <br />Council following the canvass of returns and <br /> <br /> <br />declaration of results by the agency or officer so <br /> <br /> <br />empowered. II <br /> <br />(3) Amend Section 9 to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 9. THE COUNCIL: <br /> <br />liThe Council shall be comprised of seven council <br /> <br /> <br />members, including the Mayor, and shall be the <br /> <br />legislative body of the city, each of the members of <br /> <br /> <br />which, including the Mayor, shall have the right to <br /> <br /> <br />vote upon all questions before it. <br /> <br />"Council members shall be elected at each general <br /> <br /> <br />municipal election and shall hold office for the term <br /> <br /> <br />of four years from and after the Monday next succeeding <br /> <br />the day of such election .:md .'until their oucceooorc <br /> <br />are elected and qualified.~ or, if such election shall <br /> <br /> <br />have been consolidated with a statewide election or a <br /> <br /> <br />school district election, from and after the first <br /> <br />regular meeting of the council following the canvass of <br /> <br />the returns of the election and the declaration of the <br /> <br /> <br />results by the agency or officer so empowered.
