(a) The Council of Redwood City hereby proposes, <br /> <br /> <br />on its own motion, to amend the Charter of the City of Redwood <br /> <br /> <br />City by amending Sections 21 and 28 thereof to read as follows: <br /> <br />(1) Amend Section 21 to read as follows: <br /> <br />"Section 21. OFFICERS AND BOARDS: <br /> <br /> <br />liThe administrative officers and boards shall be <br /> <br /> <br />the City Manager, City Clerk, Director of rublic Worka, <br /> <br />Ci ty Engineer, Chief of Police, Chief of Fire <br /> <br /> <br />Department, Director of Finance, City Attorney and such <br /> <br />other officers and boards or commissions as may be <br /> <br /> <br />hereinafter established. <br /> <br /> <br />liThe City Manager, City Attorney, Director of <br /> <br />Finance, and City Clerk, shall be appointed by the <br /> <br /> <br />Council and the removal of any of them shall be only on <br /> <br />the affirmative vote of five-sevenths (5/7ths) of all <br /> <br /> <br />members of the City Council. <br /> <br /> <br />"All other officers and employees shall be <br /> <br />appointed by the city manager and shall hold office or <br /> <br /> <br />position at his or her pleasure. The compensation of <br /> <br /> <br />all officers and employees, except in'} the members of <br /> <br />th~ Council, shall be provided by resolution of the <br /> <br />Council.
