<br />DES:djc 8/1/86 <br /> <br />allowed for general law city council members. <br /> <br /> <br />provision for payment in accordance with the foregoing <br /> <br /> <br />may be made when the amendment hereto providing for <br /> <br /> <br />such compensation is filed with the Secretary of State, <br /> <br /> <br />but in no event before July 1, 1982. <br /> <br />"No council member shall be eligible during the <br /> <br /> <br />term for which he or she was appointed or elected to <br /> <br /> <br />hold any other office or employment with the city, <br /> <br /> <br />except as a member of any board, commission, or <br /> <br />committee thereof, of which he or she is constituted <br /> <br />such member by general law or by this Charter." <br /> <br />(b) Said Charter amendment proposal shall be submitted <br /> <br /> <br />to the electors of the City of Redwood City at the Special <br /> <br /> <br />Municipal Election to be held in the city on November 4, <br /> <br /> <br />1986 in the form of a proposal to amend Sections 4, 5, and 9 <br /> <br />of said Charter. On the ballots and on the voting machines <br /> <br />to be used at said election, in addition to all other <br /> <br /> <br />matters required by law to be printed thereon, shall appear <br /> <br /> <br />the following: <br /> <br />PROPOSITION A: Shall Sections 4, 5 and 9 of the <br /> <br /> <br />Redwood City Charter be amended to allow consolidation of <br /> <br />general municipal elections with statewide or school <br /> <br /> <br />district elections, and to make corresponding technical <br /> <br /> <br />changes regarding canvass of returns and declaration of <br /> <br /> <br />election results? <br /> <br />7 <br />
