<br />DA .1t 12/03/87 (#20) <br /> <br />RES 0 L UTI 0 N <br /> <br />N O. <br /> <br />10691 <br /> <br />DEe 7 ',9S1 <br /> <br />ORiGINAL <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING AND AUTHORI ZING APPLICATION FOR <br />FUNDING UNDER THE FEDERAL EMERGENCY SHELTER GRANTS <br />PROGRAM. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, The Federal McKinney Homeless Act ("Act") and <br /> <br />regulations issued by the U. S. Department of Housing and Urban <br /> <br />Development pursuant to the Act ("Regulations") have authorized a <br /> <br />Federal Emergency Shelter Grants Program (" Program") to fund <br /> <br />costs of services for shelter providers; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, <br /> <br />(pursuant to the Act and Regulations) <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />California Department of Housing and Community Development has <br /> <br />been delegated the responsibility for the administration of the <br /> <br />Program, including (among other things) establishing application <br /> <br />procedures for eligible cities and counties under the Program; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, said procedures require cities and counties to <br /> <br />authorize their application for Program funding by resolution; <br /> <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Family Living Center Project ("Project"), which <br /> <br />is <br /> <br />administered by <br /> <br />the <br /> <br />Mid <br /> <br />Peninsula Housing Coalition <br /> <br />("Coali tion"), complies with the goals of the City I s Housing <br /> <br />Assistance Plan and Housing Element; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />This Council hereby approves the <br /> <br />filing of an <br /> <br />application for funding under the Program by the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City on behalf of the Coalition. <br /> <br />10691 <br />
