A typical way to <br />obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: <br /> <br />Experience: <br /> <br />One year of experience in an historical institution or organi- <br />zation, or one year of experience working with a significant <br />local history collection and service to clientele. (A one-year <br />internship ..y be substituted for professional experience.) <br /> <br />Training: <br /> <br />Possession of a certificate in Archival Studies from an accred- <br />ited college or university, or possession of a Master of <br />library Science degree from an hnerican library Association <br />accredited college or university. <br /> <br />54 <br />
