FOR <br />REDWOOD SHORES lOK FOOT RACE <br /> <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Vehicle Code Sections 21100 and 21101, <br /> <br />respectively, local authorities, by resolution, may adopt rules <br /> <br />and regulations regulating processions or assemblages on streets <br /> <br />under their jurisdiction, and temporarily closing a portion of <br /> <br />any street for celebrations, parades, local special events and <br /> <br />other purposes when deemed necessary for the safety and <br /> <br />protection of persons who are to use that portion of the street <br /> <br />during the temporary closing; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the TCI Cablevision of California, Inc. ("TCItI) has <br /> <br />requested that this Council permit it to conduct the Redwood <br /> <br />Shores 10K Foot Race in and along several hereinafter named City <br /> <br />streets and adjacent right-of-way on September 11, 1988, and it <br /> <br />is the intent and desire of this Council to permit the TCI to <br /> <br />conduct said race, and to close said streets and adjacent <br /> <br />right-of-way, as hereinafter set forth; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE; <br /> <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br />1. This Council does hereby grant to the TCI the right to <br /> <br />conduct the Redwood Shores lOK Foot Race in the City of Redwood <br /> <br />City on September 11, 1988, and does hereby authorize and direct <br /> <br />the Chief of Police to issue a permit to the TCI for said <br /> <br />purpose. <br /> <br />10787 <br />
