L. <br /> <br />OnlGi I~AL <br /> <br />SPECIAL COUNSEL SERVICES <br /> <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this <br /> <br />day of <br /> <br />, 1989, by and between the CITY OF REDWOOD CITY, <br /> <br />("City") <br /> <br />and LIEBERT, <br /> <br />CASSIDY & FRIERSON, <br /> <br />a Professional <br /> <br />Corporation ("Attorney"); <br /> <br />WIT N E SSE T H : <br /> <br />~mEREAS, City requires special legal services relating to <br /> <br />employer-employee relations; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Attorney has represented to City that it is <br /> <br />qualified and willing to perform such legal services; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, City and Attorney desire to enter into an agreement <br /> <br />for legal services to be furnished City pursuant to Section 53060 <br /> <br />of the Government Code and such other provisions of law as may be <br /> <br />applicable. <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />1. <br /> <br />Attorney's Services. <br /> <br />Attorney shall furnish expert <br /> <br />legal services to the City as requested by the City, including, <br /> <br />but not limited to, representation in administrative and court <br /> <br />proceedings. <br /> <br />The place and time for such services shall be <br /> <br />designated by City's Director of Human Resources. <br /> <br />2. <br /> <br />Compensation. <br /> <br />Ci ty shall compensate Attorney for all <br /> <br />legal services at its standard rates, of between One Hundred <br /> <br />Dollars ($100.00) and One Hundred Sixty-five Dollars ($165.00) <br /> <br />per hour for a total cost not to exceed Thirty-five Thousand and <br />
