Agreement No. RM <br />Sheet 1 of 2 <br /> <br />California Department of Transportation <br />and <br />City of Redwood city <br /> <br />Cooperative Agreement No. RM- <br /> <br />Agreement for the Purpose of Transferring Funds <br />to Caltrans for the Support of <br />the peninsula Commute Service <br />Feeder Shuttle Project <br /> <br />THIS FUND ALLOCATION AGREEMENT is entered into this <br />day of , 1989, by and between the State <br />of California, Acting by and through its Department of <br />Transportation (hereinafter referred to as "Caltrans"), and the <br />City of Redwood city (hereinafter referred to as "City"). <br /> <br />WHEREAS Caltrans is taking steps to inaugurate feeder <br />shuttle service to increase ridership and revenues of the <br />Peninsula Commute Service (hereinafter referred to as "PCS" or <br />"CaITrain"), and to enhance transit usage along the San Francisco <br />Peninsula; and . <br /> <br />WHEREAS the City recognizes the importance of CalTrain <br />as an integral part of its transportation infrastructure and is <br />actively encouraging support of the feeder shuttle project by <br />both the public and private sectors; <br /> <br />NOW THEREFORE, in consideration of the mutual covenants <br />herein contained, the parties hereto agree as follows: <br /> <br />I. Caltrans agrees to conduct, as financing allows, a <br />demonstration feeder shuttle project as mutually agreed <br />to by Caltrans and city.~ This Agreement covers the <br />period September 12, 1989 through June 30, 1990. <br /> <br />II. City will transmit to Caltrans District 4 Rail <br />Management Branch (Attn: Roger Hooson) a check payable <br />to Caltrans in the amount of fifteen thousand dollars <br />($15,000). Alternatively, a minimum of $5,000 per <br />quarter shall be paid in advance of service for that <br />quarter. Quarters shall begin on October 1, 1989, and <br />on January 1 and April 1, 1990. Checks shall include <br />the note "CalTrain Feeder Shuttle Program." <br /> <br />III. Caltrans shall act as the financial manager and trustee <br />of the funds specified in section II on behalf of the <br />city. Caltrans shall administer the project with its <br />own staff and shall use all City funds to directly <br />procure feeder shuttle services from a contractor. <br /> <br />~. ~ <br />f' ~} <br /> <br />Q <br />u <br />
