<br />Exhibit llA" <br /> <br />SENIOR PROGRAMMER ANALYST <br /> <br />, -~. <br /> <br />DEFINITION: <br /> <br />To perform a variety of duties such as prepare and maintain computer <br />programs and data, analyze system requirements, perform computer operations, <br />and related duties as required. The operating system of the Redwood City <br />Prime computer is the Prime Information operating system (Pick-like) and the <br />programming language is Info/Basic (Pascal-like). <br /> <br />SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: <br /> <br />Direction is provided by the Data Services Manager. Assignments may <br />include technical or functional supervision over data processing personnel. <br /> <br />DISTINGUISHING CHARACTERISTICS OF THE CLASS: <br /> <br />A person in this classif\cation prepares and maintains computer programs <br />and performs system requirements and related duties as assigned. Responsible <br />for both new development and maintenance of existing systems, testing, <br />implementation, and evaluation of new and existing application programs. <br />These duties require numerical and logic aptitude for program logic <br />comprehension and data flow visualization. This position requires more <br />independence, more procedural analysis, more training of others, and more <br />difficult programming than the Programmer Analyst I and Programmer Analyst II <br />pos it ions. <br /> <br />EXAMPLES OF DUTIES (illustrative only): <br /> <br />Typical duties may include, but are not limited to, the following: <br />perform procedural analysis; design input source documents; develop clerical <br />procedures for document preparation; translate problem statements into <br />detailed instructions, program specifications, and solutions; conduct <br />detailed analysis of user department requirements; develop new systems <br />consistant with departmental standards; analyze, design and test program <br />logic to eliminate errors and increase efficiency; evaluate and revise <br />existing programs and procedures to insure operational efficiency; <br />write programs of above average difficulty; prepare clear and concise <br />reports; document software in a clear and concise manner; prepare time and <br />cost estimates of proposed projects and applications; maintain the <br />confidentiality of departmental information; meet with users to analyze <br />computer needs; assist users in solving problems related to their data on the <br />computer; suggest alternative methods of operation to users; develop and <br />maintain cooperative relationships with other employees; and assist and train <br />other data processing personnel, when required, in dealing with operational <br />problems. <br /> <br />Page 1 of 2 <br /> <br />11200 <br />
