ORDINANCE NO ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS 1, 2 AND 3 OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS 1 AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 2000 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 2000 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM ADMINISTRATIVE CODE PROVISIONS FOR THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1996 EDITION"; "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1999 EDITION"; AND "THE UNIFORM CODE FOR BUILDING CONSERVATION, 1997 EDITION

Section 336-4 Uses Permitted. Type NM, Type NMC, and Type NMS cables shall <br /> be permitted to be used in the following: <br /> <br /> (1) One and Two-Family dwellings. <br /> <br /> (2) Multifamily dwellings permitted to be of Types III, IV, and V <br /> construction except as prohibited in Section 336-5. <br /> <br /> (3) Other structures permitted to be of Types III, IV, and V construction <br /> except as prohibited in Section 336-5. Cables shall be concealed <br /> within walls floors, or ceilings that provide a thermal barrier of <br /> material that has at least a 15-minute finish rating as identified in <br /> listings of fire-rated assemblies. <br /> <br /> (4) Cable trays, where the cables are identified for such use. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.145 SECTION 625.29 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE AMENDED: <br />Section 625.29 of the Electrical Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 625.29 (D) (1) Ventilation Required. <br /> <br /> (1) Table Values: For supply voltages and currents specified in Table 625-29 <br /> (D)(1) or 625-29 (D)(2). The minimum ventilation requirements shall be as <br /> specified in Table 625-29(D)(1) or Table 625-29(D)(2) for each of the total <br /> number of electric vehicles that can be charged at one time. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9,146 SECTION 690 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE AMENDED: Section <br />690 of the Electrical Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 690 Solar Photovoltaic Systems. Article 690 of the 2002 NEC may be <br /> substituted in its entirety for the installation of photovoltaic systems. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.147 SECTION 692 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE ADDED: Section 692 <br />of the Electrical Code is hereby added as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 692 Fuel Cell Systems: Article 692 of the 2002 NEC is hereby adopted in <br /> its entirety. <br /> <br /> Sec. 9.148 SECTION 695 OF THE ELECTRICAL CODE AMENDED: Section <br />695 of the Electrical Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> Section 695 Fire Pumps. Article 695 of the 2002 NEC is hereby adopted in <br /> its entirety. <br /> <br />SECTION 7.
