<br />property line for more than five (5) minutes between the hours of 7 a.m. to <br />11 p.m. every day per organization; <br />d. Accepting donations; <br />e. Soliciting or peddling as defined in Chapter 28.1 ; <br />f. Selling, bartering, or exchanging goods or services; <br />g. Charging admission; <br />h. Possessing, serving, consuming, or selling alcoholic beverages; or <br />I. Cooking, open flame and/or food preparation except candles which shall <br />be used in accordance with the City's Fire Code. <br /> <br />4. The activity includes constructing or maintaining any temporary structures <br />such as tents or any other shelters that may be used for overnight sleeping or <br />camping accommodations in the Square; <br /> <br />5. The person or persons engaged in the activity seek to exdude, or to have the <br />right to exclude, any member of the public from the activity or from any area <br />of the Courthouse Square, or the a~tivity is such that it interferes with other <br />persons' right to use the Square; or <br /> <br />6. A Redwood City Co-Produced Event. <br /> <br />Permit Exemptions <br /> <br />The following activities are exempt from the Courthouse Square Event Permit process <br />but remain subject to all other applicable City or County regulations and/or State or <br />Federal laws: <br /> <br />A. First Amendment <br />Assembly of pel"$ons, if .th.e assembly does not include any of the following: <br />temporary structures; sales of commercial merchandise, food or beverages, or <br />any of the other characteristics of a Courthouse Square Event as described in <br />this chapter, and further provided that the assembly remains within the capacity <br />limits of Courthouse Square. <br /> <br />As a courtesy, the organizers should give notice to the City's Police Department <br />at least 48 hours prior to the assembly informing the City of the date and time of <br />the event~nd providing an estimate of the approximate number of persons who <br />will be participating. <br /> <br />B. Courthouse Square Pavilion Vendors <br />All terms and conditions are covered within the Courthouse Square vendor <br />license or lease agreements. A vendor requesting to hold activities outside its <br />licensed or subleased area must obtain a Courthouse Square Event Permit in <br />accordance with this Article. <br /> <br />Insurance <br /> <br />Page 5 of 12 <br />
