N O. 2018 JUN 25 1990 --------- ORDINANCE DETERMINING AND DECLARING WATER SHORTAGE EMERGENCY, ESTABLISHING REGULATIONS AND RESTRICTIONS ON THE DELIVERY AND CONSUMPTION OF WATER, AND ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATIONS THEREOF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. FINDINGS AND DETERMINATIONS. The Council of Redwood City hereby finds and determines that: (a) Pursuant to agreement dated as of August 8, 1984, by and between the City of Redwood Ci ty, California, and the City and County of San Francisco, California, the City of Redwood City purchases water for municipal purposes and for resale to customers and users of its water system. <br /> DES:d 05/17/90 (001/9) <br /> DES:djk OS/21/90R <br /> DES:djk 06/11/90R <br /> (k) Water - Water furnished by, through, or from the water <br />system of the City. <br /> SECTION 4. PROHIBITION. It shall be, and hereby is <br />declared unlawful for any person to use water obtained from the <br />water system of the City for non-essential uses hereinafter in <br />Section 5 set forth. <br /> SECTION 5. NON-ESSENTIAL USES. The following uses of water <br />are hereby determined and declared non-essential, except as <br />expressly to the contrary hereinafter provided: <br /> (a) Allotments. The use of water in excess of the <br />individual monthly allotments for each user calculated in <br />accordance with the following formulae: <br /> (1) For the months of December and January through March, <br /> inclusive: <br /> Amw = O. 9 Mw; and <br /> (2 ) For the months of April through November, inclusive: <br /> Amd = 0.9 Mw + 0.4 (Md - Mw) , <br /> where: <br /> Amw is the monthly allotment (expressed in units) <br /> for the months of December and January <br /> through March, inclusive ( "wet-weather <br /> months") , established for each user so long <br /> as this ordinance shall remain in effect; <br /> Mw is the average monthly consumption of water <br /> calculated for each user based upon actual <br /> consumption of such user during the months of <br /> December and January through March, <br /> inclusive, of the user's base year; <br /> Amd is the monthly allotment (expressed in units) <br /> for the months of April through November, <br /> inclusive, ("dry-weather months") established <br /> for each user so long as this ordinance shall <br /> remain in effect; <br /> 4 <br /> ._-'....."....~- <br />
