<br /> DES:d)h 05/17/90 (001/9) <br /> DES:djk OS/21/90R <br /> DES:djk 06/11/90R <br />new users similarly situated as to consumption characteristics. <br />"Consumption Characteristics" for purposes of establishing <br />standard quantities of water shall include the number of persons <br />located at the premises, prior use by the same household, lot <br />size, and such other criteria as the Director determines to be <br />relevant. <br /> (b) Existing Usage. The Director is hereby authorized to <br />grant to any person or user (1) an adjustment to the allotments <br />set forth in Section 5(a) hereof, and, (2 ) an exception to the <br />prohibitions set forth in Section 5(b) hereof, upon a finding by <br />him that such adjustment or exception is necessary to prevent an <br />emergency condition affecting the health, sanitation, or fire <br />protection for, or creating an economic hardship upon, such <br />person or user, or his or her property, and that the person or <br />user to whom such adjustment or exception pertains has adopted or <br />used all practicable water conservation measures. <br /> Adjustments or exceptions permitted under this Section 6(b) <br />shall be made only upon written application therefor to the <br />Director setting forth a statement of justification for such <br />adjustment or exception. The Director may attach conditions, <br />specifications, or other qualifying provisions to any adjustment <br />or exception granted pursuant hereto in furtherance of the <br />general purposes of this ordinance, or any provision hereof. <br /> Use of water by any person or user in accordance with the <br />provisions of any adjustment or exception duly granted by the <br />Director shall not be deemed a non-essential use. <br /> 8 <br /> ~ _..~.. ..- <br />
