ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 27.130 AND 27.131 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO SEWER SERVICE CHARGES AND WASTEWATER TREATMENT CAPACITY FEES, RESPECTIVELY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Section 27.130 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 27.130. Service Charge s . (a) Established. The following charges are hereby established and levied upon each premise or any portion thereof which receives or uses sewerage service from the sewerage facilities

<br /> DES:djk 09/13/90 (007/09) <br /> DES:djk 9/17/90R <br /> "Section 27.131. Wastewater Treatment Capacity Fees. <br />(a) Fees Established. Every application for a permit to <br />connect to the sewerage facilities or a sewer lateral <br />required under the provisions of Article VI of this chapter <br />shall be accompanied by the applicable wastewater treatment <br />capacity fee established by the following schedule: <br />( 1 ) Residential Structures. <br /> (a) Single Family. For a connection serving a single <br /> family residential structure, whether for an <br /> original connection or for a reconnection <br /> resulting from the construction of a new such <br /> structure--$192.00. <br /> (b) Duplex. For a connection serving a duplex, or <br /> two-family dwelling--$313.00. <br /> (c) Multi-Dwelling Unit Structures. For a connection <br /> serving any residential structure or group of <br /> residential structures on a building site in one <br /> ownership, containing a total of more than two <br /> dwelling units--$128.00 per unit. <br />(2 ) Commercial, Industrial Structures. <br /> For a connection serving any commercial, industrial, <br /> institutional (including schools, hospitals and <br /> churches) , or other non-residential structure, there <br /> shall be charged a wastewater treatment capacity fee <br /> calculated in accordance with the following formula: <br />Treatment Capacity fee = $192.00 vi [0.4 + 0.3 BODi + 0.3 SSi] <br /> Vr BODr SSr <br /> where, <br /> vi = volume of waste or wastewater to be discharged <br /> from the commercial, industrial, or institutional <br /> structure to be connected to the sewerage <br /> facilities, in gallons per day; <br /> Vr = average volume of waste or wastewater per <br /> residential structure, in gallons per day <br /> (determined to be 270 gallons per day for single <br /> family structures, 220 gallons for duplex <br /> structures, and 180 gallons for multi-family <br /> structures) . <br /> BODi = biochemical oxygen demand of the waste or <br /> 6 <br /> .-.-,.- <br />
