No.2030 ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTIONS 10.2 THROUGH 10.9, INCLUSIVE, OF CHAPTER 10 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO EMERGENCY AND DISASTER RELIEF THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION l. Sections 10.2 through 10.9, inclusive, of the Code of the City of Redwood City are hereby amended to read as follows: "Section 10.2. Definitions. For purposes of this Chapter, the following words or terms shall have the meanings respectively ascribed thereto: 'Curfew' means a prohibition against any person or persons

The Fire Chief shall be the Emergency <br /> Operations Manager. <br />"Section 10.6. Emergency Powers, Duties and Chain of <br />Command. <br />( a) Upon determining that conditions which constitute a <br /> Local Emergency exist, the Council, or if a quorum of <br /> the Council is unable to convene, the Mayor, or in <br /> the absence or inability of the Mayor to act, the <br /> Vice-Mayor, or in the absence or inability of the <br /> Vice-Mayor to act, the Director, may proclaim the <br /> existence of a Local Emergency; provided, that <br /> whenever a Local Emergency is proclaimed by the <br /> Mayor, Vice-mayor, or Director, the Council shall <br /> ratify or rescind the proclamation at the earliest <br /> practicable time, thereafter. <br />(b) Upon the proclamation of a Local Emergency or State <br /> of Emergency, or the existence of State of War <br /> Emergency, the City Council, or if a quorum of the <br /> Council is unable to convene, the Mayor, or in the <br /> absence or inability of the Mayor to act, the <br /> Vice-Mayor, or, in absence or inability of the <br /> Vice-Mayor to act, the Director, shall be, and each <br /> of them is hereby, empowered to: <br />(1) Request the Governor to proclaim a 'State of <br /> Emergency' when, in the opinion of the Director, <br /> 4 <br /> 2030 <br /> ---"~-"'-'.' <br />
