ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 42 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO CERTAIN RESIDENTIAL RELOCATION BENEFITS FOR DISPLACEMENT CAUSED BY NON-RESIDENTIAL DEVELOPMENT AND CODE ENFORCEMENT THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION l. Chapter 42 is hereby added to the Code of Redwood City to read as follows: "Chapter 42. RESIDENTIAL RELOCATION BENEFITS "Section 42.1. Findings. The Council of Redwood City finds and declares as follows: (a) Pursuant to Government Code Section 65580, the Legislature of the State of California

Chapter 42 is hereby added to the Code of <br />Redwood City to read as follows: <br />"Chapter 42. RESIDENTIAL RELOCATION BENEFITS <br />"Section 42.1. Findings. The Council of Redwood City <br />finds and declares as follows: <br /> (a) Pursuant to Government Code Section <br />65580, the Legislature of the State of California <br />has found that the early attainment of decent <br />housing and a suitable living environment for <br />every California family is a priority of the <br />highest order. <br /> (b) In furtherance of that goal, and <br />consistent with the following factual <br />circumstances, the Housing Element of the Redwood <br />City General Plan provides that economic <br />assistance should be granted to tenants who are <br />displaced from their rental dwellings as a result <br />of non-residential development of the property on, <br />or in which, the dwellings are located, or as a <br />result of enforcement of municipal ordinances with <br />respect to the safety or habitability of such <br />property. <br />
