ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER HEADING OF, AND ADDING ARTICLES I (COMPRISED OF AMENDED SECTIONS 17.1 - 17.5), AND II TO CHAPTER 17 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO INTERFERENCE WITH ACCESS TO ANY LAWFUL BUSINESS AND PROTECTION AGAINST IMPEDING ACCESS TO HEALTH CARE FACILITIES, RESPECTIVELY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The chapter heading of Chapter 17 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "CHAPTER 17. "Interference With Access to Any Lawful Business and Protection Against Impeding Access to Health Care Facilities

<br /> DES:dft "15/93 (014/11) <br /> - ~4 / 93R <br />Maliciously - when applied to the intent with <br />which an act is done or omitted, means an intent <br />to do an unlawful act with knowledge of its <br />unlawfulness; or, in the alternative, to vex, <br />annoy, or injure another person. <br />Willfully - when applied to the intent with which <br />an act is done or omitted, means a purpose or <br />willingness to commit the act or make the omission <br />referred to; provided, that said meaning does not <br />require an intent to violate the law or injure <br />another or acquire any advantage. <br />"Section 17.2. Prohibited Activities. <br />(a) Any person who willfully and maliciously <br /> blocks, obstructs or otherwise impedes access <br /> to or exit from any building, place or <br /> facility at which a lawful business is <br /> conducted is guilty of an infraction. <br />(b) Any person who willfully and maliciously <br /> blocks, obstructs or interferes with the <br /> movement of persons on any street, sidewalk, <br /> driveway or other area which is open to the <br /> public and is adjacent to a lawful business <br /> is guilty of an infraction. <br />(c) Any person who willfully and maliciously <br /> remains on any portion of the premises of a <br /> lawful business which is open to the public, <br /> 2 <br />
