ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING VOLUNTARY WATER CONSERVATION PROGRAM, ENACTING REGULATIONS PROHIBITING CERTAIN USES OF WATER, ESTABLISHING PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF, AND PROVIDING FOR IMPLEMENTATION OF WATER CONSERVATION LANDSCAPE AND IRRIGATION GUIDELINES: AND REPEALING ORDINANCES 2018 AND 2037 RELATING TO WATER SHORTAGE EMERGENCY THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. FINDINGS AND DETERMINATION. The Council of Redwood City hereby finds and determines that: ( a) Pursuant to agreement dated as of August 8, 1984, by and between the City of Redwood City, California, and the City and County of San Francisco, California, the City of Redwood City purchases water for municipal purposes and for resale to customers and users of its water system

<br /> DES:dft '12/93 (021/11) <br /> ,/20/93R <br />within a specified period of time unless such violation or the <br />conditions or activities causing such violation cease forthwith, <br />or within a specified period of time, or the Director may make <br />such other order as he or she deems appropriate under the <br />circumstances and in furtherance of the purposes and intent of <br />this ordinance. The order of the Director shall be final. <br /> SECTION 8. PENALTY. Any person violating, or causing the <br />violation, of any of the provisions of Section 4 of this <br />ordinance, shall be guilty of an infraction, and upon conviction <br />thereof shall be punishable by: (i) a fine not exceeding One <br />Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for a first violation: (ii) a fine not <br />exceeding Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) for a second violation of <br />the same provision within one (1) year: (iii) a fine not <br />exceeding Five Hundred Dollars ($500.00) for each additional <br />violation of the same provision within one (1) year. <br /> Every day, or any portion thereof, any violation of any <br />provision of said Section 4 shall continue, shall constitute a <br />separate offense. <br /> SECTION 9. REMEDIES CUMULATIVE. The remedies and penalties <br />provided for in this ordinance shall be cumulative and not <br />exclusive, and shall be in addition to any or all other remedies <br />available to the City. <br /> SECTION 10. NOTICES. Notices required to be given pursuant <br />to the provisions of this ordinance shall be in writing, may be <br />combined with water service bills or other written <br />communications, and shall be delivered personally, or by posting <br />with the United States Mail Service, first class postage prepaid, <br /> 8 2062 <br />
