ORDINANCE NO. 2075 ORDINANCE AMENDING TITLE OF, AND ADDING ARTICLE VI TO, CHAPTER 14 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO ABATEMENT OF ABANDONED SHOPPING CARTS THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. The title of Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby amended to read as follows: "Refuse, Weed, Nuisance and Abandoned Shopping Cart Regulation and Abatement. SECTION 2. Article VI is hereby added to Chapter 14 of the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "ARTICLE VI. "Abatement of Abandoned Shopping Carts

DES:dSt 4/01/93 (015/10) <br /> 1/17/94R <br /> <br /> wheels and used in a coin-operated laundry or dry <br /> cleaning retail establishment by a customer or an <br /> attendant for the purpose of transporting fabrics <br /> and the supplies necessary to process them. <br /> <br />(d) Owner - the person, firm partnership, corporation, <br /> association or other entity who or which owns a <br /> Cart or any officer, employee, or agent of said <br /> <br /> person, firm, partnership, corporation, <br /> association or entity. <br /> <br />(e) Parkway - that area between the sidewalk and curb <br /> of a street, road or other public right-of-way, <br /> or, with respect to streets, roads or other public <br /> rights of way not bordered by a curb, that area <br /> between the edge of the street, road or <br /> right-of-way and the property line adjacent <br /> thereto; provided, that Parkway shall also include <br /> any area within a street, road or right-of-way <br /> which is not open to vehicular traffic. <br /> <br />(f) Public Property - all areas within the City <br /> dedicated to public use for street purposes, <br /> roadways, Parkways, alleys, sidewalks, drainage <br /> ditches, flood control channels, and any public <br /> right-of-way. <br /> <br />(g) Shoppin~ Cart - a basket which is mounted on <br /> wheels or a similar device generally used in a <br /> retail establishment by a customer for the purpose <br /> of transporting goods of any kind. <br /> <br /> 2 20?5 <br /> <br /> <br />
