-, DES:dft ~28/94 (019/10) <br /> <br /> 0 R I G I N A L 4/11/94 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 2078 <br /> <br /> ORDINANCE REQUIRING GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE <br /> HELD ON THE FIRST TUESDAY AFTER THE FIRST MONDAY IN <br /> NOVEMBER OF EACH ODD-NUMBERED YEAR, COMMENCING IN <br /> NOVEMBER 1995, REQUESTING APPROVAL THEREOF BY THE BOARD <br /> OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, AND <br /> REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2020 <br /> <br /> THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: <br /> <br /> SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Government Code <br /> Section 36503.5, made applicable by Section 4 of the Charter of <br /> the City of Redwood City, this Council does hereby require and <br /> order that general municipal elections of the City of Redwood <br /> City shall be held in said City on the same day as school <br /> district elections as specified in Section 2602 of the Elections <br /> Code, to wit: the first Tuesday after the first Monday in <br /> November of each odd-numbered year, commencing with said election <br /> in November, 1995, and continuing thereafter so long as this <br /> ordinance shall remain in effect. <br /> <br /> SECTION 2. This Council hereby finds and determines that, <br /> as a result of the adoption of this ordinance, no term of office <br /> of any elective officer of this City shall be increased or <br /> decreased by more than twelve (12) months. <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. Within thirty (30) days after this ordinance <br /> becomes operative, the City Clerk shall cause a notice to be <br /> mailed to all registered voters in the City of Redwood City <br /> informing said voters of the change in the election date and also <br /> informing said voters that as a result of the change in the <br /> election date elected City office holders' terms in office will <br /> be changed. <br /> <br /> <br />
