2078 ORDINANCE REQUIRING GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD ON THE FIRST TUESDAY AFTER THE FIRST MONDAY IN NOVEMBER OF EACH ODD-NUMBERED YEAR, COMMENCING IN NOVEMBER 1995, REQUESTING APPROVAL THEREOF BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, AND REPEALING ORDINANCE NO. 2020 THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Pursuant to the provisions of Government Code Section 36503.5, made applicable by Section 4 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, this Council does hereby require and order that general municipal elections of the City of Redwood City shall be held in said City on the same day as school

DES:dft ~f28/94 (019/10) <br /> <br /> SECTION 4. The Board of Supervisors of the County of San <br />Mateo, California, is hereby requested, pursuant to the <br />provisions of Government Code Section 36503.5(a)(1), to approve <br />this ordinance, and upon adoption hereof the City Clerk is hereby <br />directed to transmit a certified copy of this ordinance to said <br />Board for the purpose of said approval. <br /> <br /> SECTION 5. Ordinance No. 2020, entitled, "Ordinance <br />Requiring General Municipal Election To Be Held On The Same Day <br />As Statewide General Elections, Commencing In November, 1992, And <br />Requesting Approval Thereof By The Board Of Supervisors Of The <br />County Of San Mateo", adopted July 9, 1990, is hereby repealed~ <br />and in so repealing said ordinance, this Council hereby finds and <br />declares that at least one election was held pursuant to said <br />ordinance prior to said repeal. <br /> <br /> SECTION 6. Pursuant to the provisions of Section 16 of the <br />Charter of the City of Redwood City this ordinance shall be <br />effective upon the date of its adoption; provided, however, that <br />this ordinance shall be operative upon approval thereof by the <br />Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo following the <br />adoption hereof. <br /> <br /> 2 2078 <br /> <br /> <br />
