ORDINANCE NO. 2101 AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1994 EDITION", AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Cliapter 12 of the Code of Redwood City is hereby repealed. SECTION 2. Article II (commencing at 12.7) is hereby added to Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City, to read follows

<br />'=- <br />It shall be a violation of this Code to cause the fire department to respond to <br />more than two (2) alarms in a sixty (60) day period at a business or residence, <br />regardless of whether the alarm is due to a malfunction of the equipment or due <br />to inadvertence or negligence. <br />"Section 12.19. Section 4704 amended. <br />Section 4704 of the Fire Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 4704. Notification of FumiQation. <br />The Chief shall receive a complete fumigation permit application seventy <br />two (72) hours before any building, structure or ship is to be closed in <br />connection with the use of toxic or flammable fumigants. <br />"Section 12.20. Section 4706 amended. <br />Section 4706 of the Fire Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 4706. Watch DurinQ FumiQation. <br />Where any gas or substance is used for fumigation, the employer shall be <br />required to have twenty four (24) hour supervision from the time the premises <br />has begun fumigation and until all ventilation work has been completed. The <br />watchperson shall have available a working telephonic means under his/her <br />direct control to contact the fire department in the event of an emergency <br />during the entire fumigation process. <br />Exception: Approved gas-tight vaults and tanks. <br />"Section 12.21. Appendix II-E amended. <br />Appendix II-E of the Fire Code is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Appendix II-E. <br />Hazardous materials management plans and hazardous materials <br />inventory statements. When the Fire Code refers to hazardous materials <br />management plans, hazardous materials business plans, and/or Appendix lI- <br />E, these provisions shall apply to the hazardous materials business plan as <br />utilized/specified by the San Mateo County Department of Environmental <br />Health Services Division. <br />8 <br />
