ORDINANCE NO. 2102 ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1994 EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1993 EDITION" "ARTICLE IV. BUILDING CODES" THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS

next upstream manhole and/or flushing inlet cover at the public or private sewer <br /> system serving such drainage piping shall be protected from backflow of sewage <br /> by installing an approved type backwater valve. Fixtures above such elevation <br /> shall not discharge through the backwater valve, unless first approved by the <br /> Administrative Authority." <br /> "Section 9.86. Section 715.1 of the Plumbing Code is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> "Section 715.1. (a) The building sewer, beginning two (2) feet (./6m) <br /> from any building or structure, shall be of such materials as may be approved by <br /> the Administrative Authority under the approval procedures set forth in Chapter 3 <br /> of this Code. Metallic piping shall not be used underground in those areas <br /> underlain by younger bay mud (see map published by Redwood City Building <br /> Division for approximate locations)." <br /> "Section 987. Section 719 of the Plumbing Code is hereby amended to <br /> read as follows: <br /> "Section 719.0. Cleanouts. <br /> "Section 719.1.
