ORDINANCE NO. 2102 ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1994 EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1993 EDITION" "ARTICLE IV. "Section 304(a) Permit Fees. The fee for each electrical permit shall be <br /> as adopted by resolution of Council. The applicant shall pay to the building <br /> official for each permit at the time of issuance a fee established by resolution of <br /> the City Council." <br /> "Section 9.113. Section 336-4 of the Electrical Code is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> "Section 336.4 Uses not Permitted. (a) Type NM or NMC. Types NM <br /> and NMC cables shall not be used (1) in any dwelling or structure exceeding <br /> three floors above grade; (2) as service-entrance cable; (3) embedded in poured <br /> concrete; or (4) in any non-residential occupancy. For the purpose of this article <br /> the first floor of a building shall be that floor that has 50 percent or more of the <br /> exterior wall surface area level with or above finished grade. One additional level <br /> that is the first level and not designed for human habitation and used only for <br /> vehicle parking, storage, or similar use shall be permitted. <br /> (b) Type NM. Type NM cable shall not be installed (1) where exposed to <br /> corrosive fumes or vapors; (2) where embedded in masonry, concrete, adobe, fill <br /> or plaster; (3) in a shallow chase in masonry, concrete, or adobe and covered <br /> with plaster, adobe, or similar finish." <br /> "Section 9.114 - 9.119.
