ORDINANCE NO. 2102 ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1994 EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1993 EDITION" "ARTICLE IV. "`Section 107.2.3 Code Compliance Inspection. Applications <br /> submitted to the Building Division requesting inspection for the purpose of <br /> determining compliance with City Building, Housing, Plumbing, Electrical, <br /> and Mechanical Codes shall be accompanied by a nonrefundable fee for <br /> such service as established by resolution of the City Council." <br /> "Section 9.43. Section 904.1.2 of the Building Code is hereby amended <br /> to read as follows: <br /> "Section 904.1.2 Standards. Fire extinguishing systems shall comply <br /> with the latest standards of the National Fire Protection Association, as approved <br /> by the Building Official." <br /> "Section 9.44. Section 1806.1 of the Building Code is hereby <br /> amended to read as follows: <br /> "Section 1806.1 General. Footings and foundations shall be constructed <br /> of masonry, concrete or treated wood in conformance with Division II and shall <br /> extend below the frost line. Footings of concrete and masonry shall be of solid <br /> material. Foundations supporting wood shall extend at least 6 inches (152 mm) <br /> above the adjacent finish grade. Footings shall have a minimum depth as <br /> indicated in Table 18-I-D unless another depth is recommended by a foundation <br /> investigation.
