ORDINANCE NO. 2102 ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, AND VIII OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1994 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1994 EDITION"; AND "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1993 EDITION" "ARTICLE IV. BUILDING CODES" THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS

3. New structural elements are detailed and connected to the existing <br /> structural elements as required by these regulations, and <br /> 4. New or relocated nonstructural elements are detailed and connected to <br /> existing or new structural elements as required by these regulations, and <br /> 5. An unsafe condition as defined above is not created. <br /> When a permit is issued for alterations or repairs, the existing suspended <br /> ceiling system within the area of alteration or repair shall comply with the lateral <br /> design requirements of UBC standards 25-2 Part Ill. <br /> "Section 9.48. Sections 421.1, Item 5 and 421.2, Appendix Chapter 4, <br /> Division I of the Building Code are hereby deleted and shall have no force or <br /> effect in the City." <br /> "Section 9.49. Section 3310, Appendix Chapter 33 of the Building Code <br /> is hereby amended to read as follows: <br /> "`Section 3310. Grading Fees. At the time of filing for a grading permit, <br /> the applicant shall deposit funds to cover the costs of plan checking. Prior to <br /> plan approval, additional fees shall be deposited to cover the costs of inspection. <br /> The plan checking and inspection deposit amounts and City costs shall be <br /> established by resolution of the City Council.
