ORDINANCE NO. 2153 ORDINANCE ADDING SECTIONS 18.234 THROUGH 18.243 TO CHAPTER 18 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO LOCAL DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS The Council of the City of Redwood City does ordain as follows: Section 1. Sections 18234 through 18243 are hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City to read as follows: "Article XlV. LOCAL DEVELOPMENT STANDARDS Section 18.234 PURPOSE: The purpose of this Article is to provide for the planned extension and repair of utility and street improvements upon the construction

Remodeling with Street Frontage of 200 feet or more a new street light shall be <br />installed, if needed, as determined by Engineering and Construction. <br /> <br /> Section 18.241 STREET IMPROVEMENTS (STREET TREES): Upon the <br />construction of a New Building or the performance of Substantial Commercial <br />Remodeling, or when sidewalks are replaced or repaired, on the Street Frontage, as <br />required by this Ordinance, four (4) foot square street tree wells shall be dug, grates <br />and frames shall be installed, and 24-inch box trees planted every 30 feet on average <br />for the entire length of Street Frontage, except at driveways. The tree grate and tree <br />well shall conform to the City's Engineering Standard. Irrigation shall be provided to <br />each tree well unless exempted by the City in writing. The type of tree shall be <br />specified by the City and the property owner will be responsible for watering the tree. <br /> <br /> This street tree requirement shall be imposed on the following streets: <br /> <br /> · El Camino Real (Entire length within Redwood City) <br /> · Woodside Road (Entire length where access is allowed, not along the <br /> expressway) <br /> · Broadway (1400 through 1800 block and 2700 block) <br /> · Arguello Street (400-600 block) <br /> · Perry Street (00 block) <br /> · California Street (00-100 block) <br /> · Brewster Avenue (500-1000 block) <br /> · Fuller Street (200-400 block) <br /> · Bradford Street (200-300 block, 600-800 block) <br /> · Marshall Street (200-800 block) <br /> · Winslow Street (00-800 block) <br /> · Middlefield Road (400-700 block) <br /> · Jefferson Avenue (500-1100 block) <br /> · Main Street (400-1600 block) <br /> · Veterans Boulevard (400-1400 block) <br /> · Whipple Avenue (500-900 block) <br /> · James Avenue (00 block) <br /> · Allerton Street (500-600 block) <br /> · Spring Street (Main Street to Maple Street) <br /> · Warren Street (400-600 block) <br /> <br /> -4- 2153 <br /> <br /> <br />
