shall be entitled to at least fifty (50) square feet of sign area and no sign shall <br /> exceed one hundred and fifty (150) square feet in area. <br /> <br /> b. Information Displayed. The information displayed on signs shall be limited <br /> to the name and type of business, services rendered and/or goods that ara <br /> produced and/or sold upon the property upon which the sign is placed. No <br /> sign may display the make, brand name or manufacturer's name of any <br /> product or service unless such information assists in, and is done incidentally <br /> to, the naming of the business or the identification of the type of business. <br /> Courtesy information such as payment options, telephone numbers and <br /> business hours shall not be displayed on any signs other than window signs. <br /> Unless stated otherwise in this ^rticle, no sign shall display the name of any <br /> business, service or product that is not located on the property. <br /> <br />Section 3.79. Special Regulations. The following provisions apply to signs which <br />warrant special regulation: <br />a. Portable Signs. Notwithstanding the provisions of Division 9 ("Prohibited <br />Signs") of this Article, portable signs may be displayed by a ground floor <br />business located in the Broadway Mall, downtown araa or any other area that is <br />designated by the City to be appropriate for such signs. Portable signs shall be <br />subject to raview and approval by the Architectural Review Committee in <br />accordance with the following requiraments: <br /> <br /> 1. Number. No business may display mora than one (1) portable sign. <br /> <br /> 2. Size. No portable sign shall exceed ten (10) square feet in araa (per side). <br /> 3. Height. No portable sign shall exceed five (5) feet in height (above grade). <br /> <br /> 4. Time Limit. No portable sign may be displayed when the business is closed <br /> to customers. <br /> <br /> b. Building Signs. Advertising artwork, architectural banners, awning signs, blade <br /> signs, canopy signs, projecting signs, under-canopy signs and wall signs may be <br /> displayed on a building fa(~ade in accordance with the following requiraments: <br /> <br /> 1. General Regulations. The limitations set forth below shall apply to all <br /> building signs. <br /> <br /> i. Placement. Each building sign shall be displayed only on a <br /> building fa(~ade facing a street or parking lot. Any sign projecting <br /> two (2) inches or mora from a building wall shall have a vertical <br /> clearance of at least eight (8) feet (above grade). No sign shall be <br /> placed in a manner whereby any portion of the sign extends above <br /> a roofiine or beyond the side of a building. <br /> <br /> ii. Number. A ground floor business may display one (1) sign on <br /> each building facade facing a straet, or parking lot.
