Benchmarked positions are as follows: <br /> <br />**Public Works Services Director bendamarked to 95% of Community Development Director. <br />**Building Official, and Housing & Redevelopment Director bo~chmarked to <br /> Planning Director. <br />**City Engineer benchmarked 15% above Supervising Civil Engineer. <br />Adjustments to salary ranges of benchmarked classifications shah be effective on the date that <br />adjustment occurs to the classification it is benchmarked to. <br /> <br />Similarly, in the event a subordinate classification's salary range is adjusted and infringes on <br />the top step minimum differential spread to its supervisory classification, the supervisory <br />classification's salary range shall be adjusted on the same effective date as the subordinates <br />classification so that minimum differentials are maintained. <br /> <br /> SECTION 4 - EXECUTIVE MANAGEMENT BENEFIT PACKAGE <br /> Vacation - Full-time employees shall be entitled to annual vacation leave as follows: <br /> Upon completion of the initial six (6) months period of employment, full-time <br /> employees shall be credited with five (5) days of vacation leave. Thereafter, the first <br /> through the fourth calendar year of service, ten (10) days of vacation; the fifth through <br /> the fourteenth calendar year of service, fifteen (I 5) days of vacation; the fii~eenth and <br /> subsequent calendar years of service, twenty (20) days of vacation. At the discretion <br /> of the department head, a probationary employee who has completed at least six (6) <br /> months of his/bet probationary period may take accrued vacation leave. Probationa~ <br /> employees who do not successfully complete their probationary period are not entitled <br /> to be paid for accrued vacation time. <br /> <br /> lllness During Vacation - An employee who commences a scheduled vacation period <br /> and subsequently becomes ill before his or her vacation period has been completed <br /> shall be placed on sick leave. <br /> <br /> When the employee's vacation leave is converted to sick leave, the appropriate <br /> vacation credit shall be restored to the employee's earned vacation balance, and a <br /> reasonable opportunity to utilize this vacation credit shah be provided within the City's <br /> existing practices in order to avoid loss of vacation credit. <br /> <br /> In-Lieu Hours - In-Lieu Hours are established to recognize the inherent and <br /> distinctive terms and conditions of employment of Executive Management <br /> classifications. These positions are distinguished from all other merit system positions <br /> in that they serve solely at the pleasure of the City Manager or appointing authority in <br /> an exempt at will capacity, they may be removed without cause, and they are expected <br /> to work on call numerous hours beyond the regular work week without any additional <br /> form of compensation. <br /> <br /> <br />
