ORDINANCE NO. 2165 ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS I AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, v, vi, vii, viii AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS I AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1996 EDITION"; AND "THE UNIFORM CODE FOR BUILDING CONSERVATION, 1997 EDITION

Roofing materials and methods of application shall comply with the U.B.C. <br />Standards and shall follow manufacturer's installation requirements when <br />approved by the Building Official." <br /> <br /> "Section 9.56 - 9.59. Reserved." <br /> <br /> SECTION 3. Article V of Chapter g of the Redwood City Code is hereby <br />added to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "ARTICLE V. HOUSING CODE <br /> <br /> "Section 9.60. Adoption by Reference; Conflicting Provisions: (a) <br />Pursuant to Section 50022.1, et seq., of the Government Code and Section 15 of <br />the Charter of the City of Redwood City, the Uniform Housing Code, 1997 <br />Edition, as published by the International Conference of Building Officials, is <br />hereby adopted and shall be in effect within the City of Redwood City to the <br />same extent as if set out in full herein except as expressly amended by the <br />provisions of this article. <br /> <br /> "(b) In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the Uniform <br />Housing Code, 1997 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the Housing Code, and <br />the provisions of this chapter, the provisions of this chapter shall apply." <br /> <br /> "Section 9.61.
