marked "Raintight," "Rainproof' or "Out-door Type," they shall be permitted out- <br />of-doors. <br /> <br /> Exception: Threads at joints shall be permitted to be coated with an <br />identified electrically conductive compound. <br /> <br /> (b) In Concrete or In Direct Contact with the Earth. Ferrous or nonferrous <br />metal raceways, cable armor, boxes, cable sheathing, cabinets, elbows, <br />couplings, fittings, supports, and support hardware shall be permitted to be <br />installed in concrete or in direct contact with the earth, or in areas subject to <br />severe corrosive influences where made of material judged suitable for the <br />condition, or where provided with corrosion protection approved for the condition. <br />Metallic conduit shall not be used underground in those areas underlain by <br />Younger Bay Mud (see map published by Redwood City Building & Inspection <br />for approximate locations). <br /> <br /> (c) Indoor Wet Locations. In portions of dairies, laundries, canneries, and <br />other indoor wet locations, and in locations where walls are frequently washed or <br />where there are surfaces of absorbent materials, such as damp paper or wood, <br />the entire wiring system, where installed exposed, including all boxes, rittings, <br />conduits, and cable used therewith, shall be mounted so that there is at least <br />1/4-in.
