ORDINANCE NO. 2165 ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS I AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, v, vi, vii, viii AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS I AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1996 EDITION"; AND "THE UNIFORM CODE FOR BUILDING CONSERVATION, 1997 EDITION

"'Section 107.2.2. Valuation of Work. The determination of value or <br />valuation under any of the provisions of this code shall be made by the Building <br />Official. The value to be used in computing the building permit and building plan <br />review fees shall be the total value of all construction work for which the permit is <br />issued as well as all finish work, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, <br />air conditioning, elevators, fire extinguishing systems and any other permanent <br />equipment. <br /> <br /> "'Section 107.2.3 Code Compliance Inspection. Applications submitted <br />to the Building Division requesting inspection for the purpose of determining <br />compliance with City Building, Housing, Plumbing, Electrical, and Mechanical <br />Codes shall be accompanied by a nonrefundable fee for such service as <br />established by resolution of the City Council.'" <br /> <br /> "Section 9.43. Section 904.1~2 of Building Code amended: Section <br />904.1.2 of the Building Code is hereby amended <br />to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "Section 904.1.2 Standards. Fire extinguishing systems shall comply <br />with the latest standards of the National Fire Protection Association, as approved <br />by the Building Official." <br /> <br /> "Section 9.44.
