ORDINANCE NO. 2165 ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLES IV, V, VI, VII, VIII AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS I AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; ADDING ARTICLES IV, v, vi, vii, viii AND ARTICLE IX, DIVISIONS I AND 2 OF CHAPTER 9 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO THE ESTABLISHMENT OF REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDINGS AND STRUCTURES IN THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE FOLLOWING CODES: "THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM BUILDING SECURITY CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM HOUSING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM MECHANICAL CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE UNIFORM PLUMBING CODE, 1997 EDITION"; "THE NATIONAL ELECTRICAL CODE, 1996 EDITION"; AND "THE UNIFORM CODE FOR BUILDING CONSERVATION, 1997 EDITION

Braced wall panel sole plates shall be nailed to the floor framing and top <br />plates shall be connected to the framing above in accordance with Table 23-11-B- <br />1. Sills shall be bolted to the foundation or slab in accordance with Section <br />1806.6. Where joists are perpendicular to braced wall lines above, blocking shall <br />be provided under and in line with the braced wall panels. <br /> <br /> "Section 9.46. Section 421.1, Item 5; 421.2; Appendix Chapter 4, <br />Division 1 of Building code deleted: Sections 421.1, Item 5 and 421.2, Appendix <br />Chapter 4, Division I of the Building Code are hereby deleted and shall have no <br />force or effect in the City." <br /> <br /> "Section 9.47. Section 3310, Appendix Chapter 33 of Building Code <br />amended: Section 3310, Appendix Chapter 33 of the Building Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> <br /> "'Section 3310. GradinR Fees. At the time of filing for a grading permit, <br />the applicant shall deposit funds to cover the costs of plan checking. Prior to <br />plan approval, additional fees shall be deposited to cover the costs of inspection. <br />The plan checking and inspection deposit amounts and City costs shall be <br />established by resolution of the City Council. Separate plan review and permit <br />fees shall apply to retaining walls or major drainage structures as required <br />elsewhere in this code.'" <br /> <br /> "Section 9.48. Appendix Chapter 33 of Building Code amended: <br /> <br />Appendix Chapter 33 of the Building Code is hereby amended to insert the <br /> <br />ORD-001 7 <br />FXS:jtl:rnkc <br />6/1/99 2165 <br /> <br /> <br />
