ORDINANCE NO. 2179 ORDINANCE ADDING ARTICLES II AND III TO CHAPTER TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY PROVIDING FOR ADMINISTRATIVE CITATIONS. the time period after which administrative penalties will begin to accrue <br /> shall not be less than five business days; <br /> <br /> (5) Either a copy of this article or an explanation of the consequences of <br /> noncompliance with the compliance order and a description of the hearing <br /> procedure and appeal process for contesting the compliance order. <br /> <br /> Section 3.4. Method of Service. <br /> <br /> (a) All compliance orders may be served by personal delivery on any person <br />determined to be responsible for the violation if the responsible person can be located. <br />If the Enforcement Official cannot locate or effect service on a responsible party for <br />personal delivery of a compliance order, then the compliance order may be served by <br />certified mail, postage prepaid, return receipt requested, addressed to a location <br />reasonably calculated to give notice to the responsible party of service of the <br />compliance order. All notices required by this article to be served subsequent to <br />service of a compliance order may be served either by personal delivery or by certified <br />mail, postage prepaid, return receipt requested, and shall be deemed effective on the <br />date when the certified mail is either delivered or delivery is attempted. If the certified <br />mail receipt is returned unsigned, then service may instead be effected by regular first <br />class mail, postage prepaid, provided that the notice sent by regular mail is not returned <br />by the postal service as undeliverable; service by regular mail shall be deemed effective <br />on the date three days following deposit in the mail. <br /> <br /> (b) Where a violation of code provisions respecting the condition of real <br />property is involved, service by certified mail of a compliance order or subsequent <br />written notices authorized by this article may be effected at the address as shown on <br /> <br />Ord-067 ! 7 <br />flshlshlRC/Council <br />:FXS:rg <br />1199:06/21199r <br />06/23/99 2:00 PM 2179 <br />07/16/99r <br /> <br /> <br />
