<br />SECTION 5. Section 4.21 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 4.21. Any denial of an application for a <br />permit or the establishment of any condition thereon may <br />be appealed to the City Council within 30 days after the <br />date of mailing of the notice of the Chief of Police's <br />action to the applicant. The appeal shall be in writing <br />and shall be filed with the city Clerk. The appeal shall <br />be reviewed by the City Council after notice to the appli- <br />cant of the time and place of review, and the City Council <br />shall, after review, either grant, conditionally grant or <br />deny the permit." <br />SECTION 6. Section 4.22 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 7. Section 4.22 is hereby added to the Code of the <br />City of Redwood City to read as follows: <br />"Section 4.22. A permit shall be valid only for the <br />date for which it is issued or for a period of one year,. <br />depending upon the permit which has been approved by the <br />Chief of Police." <br />SECTION 8. Section 4.24 of the Code of the City of Redwood <br />City is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 4.24. Any yearly public dance permit may be <br />revoked by the Chief of Police at any time it is determined <br />that any conditions of the permit have been violated or <br />that any of the provisions of Section 4.19 would be violated <br />by continued operation of a public dance or that any law, <br />ordinance or regulation would be violated by the continued <br />operation of a public dance. <br />"Before revoking any permit, at least five days notice <br />shall be given to the applicant, and he shall be given an <br />opportunity to be heard by the Chief of Police.
