1 8 4 9 11/S/81R AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1979 EDITION, " AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repea1~d. SECTION 2. Such permits shall not be renewable, but <br />shall be valid only for the year in which issued. <br />" , (g) The Fire Chief shall disapprove the proposed location <br />of any temporary fireworks sales facility, which, in his opinion, <br />constitutes a fire hazard; or shall disapprove such location <br />upon the recommendation of the Chief of Police if, in the opinion <br />of the Chief of Police, such location will constitute a traffic <br />hazard. <br />" , (h) In addition to such other requirements or conditions <br />as in the opinion of the Chief are necessary for the prevention of <br />fire or the protection of li£e and property, the following provisions <br />shall apply to all retail operations permitted by temporary fire- <br />works sales permits: <br />" , (1) Fireworks sales facilities shall be located on property <br />cleared of all combustible materials for a minimum distance of <br />25 feet surrounding such facilities. No such facilities shall <br />be located within 25 feet of any service station; nor within <br />25 feet of anyone location where more than four (4) motor <br />vehicles are stored or parked adjacent to, or in close proximity <br />to one another. All fireworks sá1es facilities shall conform <br />to the requirements of Ordinance No. 1130, as amended, the <br />zoning Ordinance of the City of Redwood City . <br />'" (2) All fireworks sales facilities shall meet the <br />building requirements and electrical requirements applicable <br />thereto of the provisions of Chapter 9 (as amended) of the <br />Code of the City of Redwood City. All such facilities in excess <br />of 20 feet in length shall have at least two (2) exits; and <br />each such facilitiy in excess of 40 feet in length shall have <br />at least three (3) exits spaced approximately equal distance <br /> -20- <br /> ._.. <br />
