1 8 4 9 11/S/81R AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1979 EDITION, " AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repea1~d. SECTION 2. Storage, handling or use of Class 1 liquids in excess of <br />5 gallons in any building or other occupancy, or in excess of 10 <br />gallons outside- of any building#, ~xceptthat no permit shall be. required <br />for the following: <br /> .., (i) For the storage or use of Class 1 liquids in the fuel <br />tank Qf a motor vehicle, aircraft, motorboat, mobil.e power plant <br />or mobile heating plant, :unless storage, in the opinion of the <br />Chie£, would cause an unsafe condition. <br /> , <br /> " , (ii) For the storage or use of paints, oils,_varnishesor <br />similar flàmmable mixtures when such liquids are stored for <br />maintenance, painting or, similar purposes for a period of not <br />more than 30 days. <br />"'2. Storage, handling or use of Class II or III liquids in <br />excess of 25 gallons in a building, or in excess of 60 gallons outside <br />a building, except for fuel oil us'ed in connection with oil-burning <br />equipment. <br />'" 3.
