1 8 4 9 11/S/81R AN ORDINANCE REPEALING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY; AND ADDING ARTICLE II OF CHAPTER 12 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FIRE PREVENTION; AND ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE "UNIFORM FIRE CODE, 1979 EDITION, " AS PUBLISHED BY THE INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE OF BUILDING OFFICIALS AND THE WESTERN FIRE CHIEFS ASSOCIATION THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Article II (commencing at 12.7) of Chapter 12 of the Code of the City of Redwood City is hereby repea1~d. SECTION 2. <br />severally, for each and every such violation and noncompliance <br />respectively, be guilty of an infraction and, upon conviction thereof, <br />shall be punishable by: <br />'" (1) A fine not exceeding Fifty Dollars ($50.00) for a first <br /> violation; <br />"' (2) A fine not exceeding One Hundred Dollars ($100.00) for a <br /> second violation of the same provision within one (1) year; <br />'" (3) A fine not exceeding Two Hundred Fifty Dollars ($250.00) for <br /> each additional violation of the same provision within <br /> one (1) year. <br />The imposition of anyone penalty for any vio1atioß3sha11 not excuse <br />the violation or permit it to continue. Each and every day a violation <br />shall continue shall be deemed to be a separate violation. <br /> II (b) The Chief or his authorized representatives shall <br />enforce the provisions of the Fire Code adopted by Section 12.7 <br />and as amended by this article and all orders, licenses, certificates, <br />permits and plans and specifications issued or approved thereunder <br />and shall have the authority to issue citations for violations <br />thereof. II <br />SECTION 3. All former ordinances or parts thereof conflicting <br />or inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance or of the Code <br />hereby adopted are hereby repealed. <br />SECTION 4. If any section, paragraph, sentence or word of this <br />ordinance or of the Code hereby adopted should for any reason be found <br />invalidT it is intended that a11 other portions of this ordinance <br />independent 0t the elimination here from of any such portion as may be <br />declared invalid shall be valid. <br />SECTION S. This ordinance shall take .effect 30 days after the date <br />of its adoption; provided, however, that any building or structure lawfully I <br />commenced by the completion of its foundation structure may be completed <br /> -24- <br /> ..--... <br />
