<br /> "Article IV. BUILDING CODES" <br /> "Section 9.40 (a) Pursuant to Section 50022.1, et seq., of <br />the Government Code and Section 15 of the Charter of the City of <br />Redwood City, the following codes, standards and regulations are <br />hereby adopted and shall be in effect within the City of Redwood <br />City to the same extent as if set out in full herein, exc,~pt as <br />expressly amended by the provisions of this article: <br /> " , (1) The Uniform Building Code, 1979 Edition, as published <br /> by the International Conference of Building Officials <br /> (Fourth Printing) . Chapter 32 and 49 of the Appendix <br /> is specifically adopted and shall be enforceable to <br /> the same extent as if contained in the body of said <br /> Code. The remainder of the appendix is not adopted <br /> and shall not be a part of said Code. <br /> " , (2) The Uniform Building Code Standards, 1979 Edition, <br /> as published by the International Conference of <br /> Building Officials." <br />(b) In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the <br />Uniform Building Code, 1979 Edition, hereinafter referred to as <br />the Building Code, and the provisions of this chapter, the <br />provisions of this chapter shall apply." <br /> "Section 9.41 Section 204 of the Building Code is hereby <br />deleted and shall have no force or effect in the City. <br /> "Section 9.42 Section 304 of the Building Code is hereby <br />amended to read as follows: <br /> "'Section 304 (a) Building Permit Fees. The Building <br /> Official shall charge a fee to the person filing an <br /> application for such permit, such fee to be paid to <br /> the Building Official at the time of such filing. <br /> The fees for such permits shall be established by <br /> resolution of the council. <br /> "'The determination of value or valuation under any of <br /> of provisions of this Code shall be made by the <br /> Building Official. The valuation to be used in <br /> computing the permit and plan review fees shall be <br /> the total value of all construction work for which <br /> the permit is issued, as well as all finish work, <br /> painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, <br /> air conditioning, elevators, fire-extinquishing <br /> systems and any other permanent work or permanent <br /> equipment. <br /> "'Where work for which a permit is required by this <br /> Code is started or proceeded with prior to obtaining <br /> said permit, such permit fee shall be doubled, but <br /> -5- <br /> -- <br />
