"Article IV. BUILDING CODES" "Section 9.40 (a) Pursuant to Section 50022.1, et seq., of the Government Code and Section 15 of the Charter of the City of Redwood City, the following codes, standards and regulations are hereby adopted and shall be in effect within the City of Redwood City to the same extent as if set out in full herein, exc,~pt as expressly amended by the provisions of this article: " , (1) The Uniform Building Code, 1979 Edition, as published by the International Conference of Building Officials (Fourth Printing) . Chapter 32 and 49 of the Appendix is specifically adopted and shall be enforceable to the same extent as if contained in the body of said Code. The remainder of the appendix is not adopted and shall not be a part of said Code. " , (2) The Uniform Building Code Standards, 1979 Edition, as published by the International Conference of Building Officials." (b) In the event of any conflict between the provisions of the Uniform Building Code, 1979 Edition, hereinafter referred to as the Building Code, and the provisions of this chapter, the provisions of this chapter shall apply." "Section 9.41 Section 204 of the Building Code is hereby deleted and shall have no force or effect in the City. "Section 9.42 Section 304 of the Building Code is hereby amended to read as follows: "'Section 304 (a) Building Permit Fees. The Building Official shall charge a fee to the person filing an application for such permit, such fee to be paid to the Building Official at the time of such filing. The fees for such permits shall be established by resolution of the council. "'The determination of value or valuation under any of of provisions of this Code shall be made by the Building Official. The valuation to be used in computing the permit and plan review fees shall be the total value of all construction work for which the permit is issued, as well as all finish work, painting, roofing, electrical, plumbing, heating, air conditioning, elevators, fire-extinquishing systems and any other permanent work or permanent equipment. "'Where work for which a permit is required by this Code is started or proceeded with prior to obtaining said permit, such permit fee shall be doubled, but -5- --
