APR 1 2 1982 ORDINANCE ADDING CHAPTER 41 TO THE CODE OF THE CITY OF REDWOOD CITY RELATING TO FLOOD ZONE DEVELOPMENT THE COUNCIL OF REDWOOD CITY DOES ORDAIN, AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. Chapter 41 is hereby added to the Code of the City of Redwood City, to read as follows: FLOOD ZONE MANAGEMENT "Section 41.1. Title. This chapter shall be known as the Flood Zone Management Ordinance of the City of Redwood City. "Section 41.2. Findings and Purpose. The City Council does find and declare that certain areas of the city are subject to intermittent inundation which can result in loss of life, property, health and safety hazards, disruptions of commerce and

<br /> for appeal shall state the grounds upon which the appeal lS <br /> being made and shall be accompanied by any supporting informa- <br /> tion the appellant desires to be considered in connection with <br /> the appeal. <br /> The written request for appeal shall be accompanied by a <br /> nonrefundable fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) . <br /> Upon filing a request for appeal, the City Clerk shall glve <br /> notice of such appeal to the officer or employee of the City <br /> whose determination, decision or action is being appealed, and <br /> shall notify such officer or employee of the time and place of <br /> the hearing thereon. The City Clerk shall, in every case, notify <br /> the Director of Public Works of such appeal upon receipt of a <br /> request therefor. <br /> A public hearing shall be held upon the appeal. Notice of <br /> such hearing shall be given, to the extent not inconsistent here- <br /> with, in accordance with the provisions of Article 49 of the <br /> Zoning Ordinance. <br /> The City Council may affirm, reverse or modify the decision, <br /> determination or action being appealed if it determines the public <br /> interest will be served by such affirmance, reversal or modifica- <br /> tion, and if it determines that the prerequisites required by <br /> Section 41.17 have been met, if applicable. The Council may, <br /> pending final determination of any appeal, require the Director <br /> of Public Works, or any administrative official, to submit his <br /> recommendations to the Council. The determination on an appeal <br /> by the city Council shall be final. <br /> SECTION 2.
