<br /> " (b) The Director of Public Works may attach such condi- <br /> tions to the granting of variances as he deems neces- <br /> sary to further the purpose of this chapter. <br /> "Section 41.18. Exception of Historic Sites from Variance <br /> Requirements. Variances may be granted for reconstruction, rehabi- <br /> litation or restoration of structures listed on the National Regis- <br /> ter of Historic Places or the State Inventory of Historic Places, <br /> without regard to the requirements and procedures for the grant- <br /> ing of variances as hereinbefore set forth in this chapter. <br /> "Section 41.19. Notice to Variance Holder. All applicants <br /> -------~ <br /> to whom a variance is granted shall be given written notice that <br /> the issuance of a variance to construct a structure below the base <br /> flood level will result in increased premium rates for flood insur- <br /> ance and that such construction below the base flood level increases <br /> risks to life and property. <br /> "Section 41.20. Penalties. It is unlawful for any person <br /> to violate any provision or fail to comply with any requirement <br /> of this chapter. Any person violating any provisions of this <br /> chapter or failing to comply with any of its requirements shall <br /> be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction thereof shall <br /> be punished as set forth in chapter 1. 7 of this code. Nothing <br /> herein contained shall prevent the city or other appropriate <br /> authority from taking such other lawful action as is necessary to <br /> prevent or remedy any violation. <br /> "Section 41.21. Appeals. Any person aggrieved by any deci- <br /> sion, determination or action of any office or employee of the <br /> city in the administration of the provisions of this chapter may <br /> appeal such determination, decision or action to the City Council <br /> in accordance with the provisions of this section. <br /> Every request for an appeal hereunder shall be in writing <br /> and filed with the City Clerk within seven (7) days of the final <br /> determination, decision o~ action being appealed.
